Geographic isolation and the selecting pressures of a harsh environment can combine to shape some very interesting organisms. Such is the case with the otherworldly baobab trees of Madagascar.

So amazing!!!! The Little Prince: The prince spends his days caring for his “planet”, pulling out the baobab trees that are constantly trying to take root there.
one of my favorite restaurants in sf is named after these amazing trees.
